Since Microsoft is relying on us to suggest future enhancements for Dynamics GP, I have created one that I hope you will consider voting for.

1099 Amount Inclusion by Account Segment Code

Description:  This feature can make 1099 reporting far more accurate in Payables Management by giving greater control over the default 1099 Amount in payables vouchers.  We used this feature in PeopleSoft Financials before we converted to Dynamics GP.
A user can designate one or more account segment codes as 1099 enabled.  When this feature is enabled, only transaction amounts for posting accounts containing a 1099-enabled segment code will be added to the document 1099 Amount field if the vendor is designated as a 1099 vendor in the Vendor Maintenance Options window.  Without this feature enabled, the entire document amount will default to the 1099 Amount field if the vendor is designated as a 1099 vendor in the Vendor Maintenance Options window.

Feature Detail:   A section would be added to the Payables Setup Options window called “Enable 1099 Account Segment Codes”
There will be a lookup for Segment ID, From and To selection fields for segment code(s) and a Restriction Box with Add/Remove Buttons.
Users can select Segment IDs and Segment Codes as 1099-enabled.  The user should be able to select one or many code ranges for each segment ID.   When this feature is enabled, only transaction amounts for posting accounts containing a 1099-enabled segment code will be added to the document 1099 Amount field if the vendor is designated as a 1099 vendor in the Vendor Maintenance Options window.

To activate or disable this feature, a check box option is added to the Company Setup Options window:
“Enable 1099 Amount Accrual by Account Segment Code.”
If this box is not checked, then for all PM Voucher transactions, the default 1099 Amount is equal to the Document Amount for a 1099 vendor.  (This is current functionality.)
If this box is checked, then only transaction amounts for posting accounts containing a 1099-enabled segment code will be added to the document 1099 Amount field for a 1099 vendor.

      Thanks for voting.
