      Hi all,

I’m looking to see if it’s possible to import records into the Hours Journal of our AX 2102 r3 system from a CSV/Spreadsheet.

The screens in AX I’m interested in importing into are the “Hours Journal” for the header record and then the “Journal lines for hours” screen for the lines that make up the details of the header. Examples of data below.

As far as Excel/CSV file format, I could be fairly flexible.

I’m quite inexperienced with Atlas and have never used it for an import before and have only been working with AX for a month now but I am a full admin with a full Atlas license so shouldn’t have any problems having the correct requirements.

I’ve tried to guess my way through the process in Atlas and AX to work out what i’d need to do and I believe what I need to be looking at is ProjEmplTrans table but I’m really unsure how it works with regards to creating a header record and then importing all the lines into it.

Any ideas if what i’m trying to do is actually possible? If it is, would anyone be so kind as to lend some advice or point me in the right dirrection for assistance. If it’s not possible, could someone tell me and stop me from wasting anymore time on it, haha.

      Many thanks!

      Hi Mathew

As a licensed customer, I think you should have no trouble getting access to the Atlas on-line resources.

      https://help.insightsoftware.com/s/login/SelfRegister

This site has many pre-built upload templates that you can download (although I could not find one for Project Hours). But it also has training resources (search Atlas Getting Started). For the header/lines type upload you need, I imagine you’ll be wanting to use a Journal upload type in Atlas.

I’ve just had to do this and I based it on a template from Global.

      https://www.globalsoftwareinc.com/atlas/templates/pma-project-hour-journal-times-and-financial-dimension-1

I tweaked it to match my requirements but the basics are the same.?

      Hi Chris,

That sounds really reassuring, thanks so much for confirming. I unfortunately don’t have an account with Global and am not going to be able to get one so I cant follow your link unfortunately.

Would you be willing to share the file privately with me? I’d be so incredibly grateful!

      Many thanks for considering. šŸ™‚
