      Hello,

It was really hard to come up with a subject for this.  We are on AX 2012 R2 and we need to determine how much of a raw material ended up at a customer in Canada.  Not just a particular customer, but for each customer.  So the scenario is this – Customer buys item A, in which raw material B is a component.  The customer needs to know, over the course of a year, how much of raw material B was imported in item A.  If it was just one customer and one item, we could calculate that based on sales.  But it is all Canadian customers, all items that they purchase and multiple raw materials.  Oh, and raw material B is actually an ingredient  of 4 different sub-components that are blended together in different percentages to make thousands of end items.

I know in Released products > Manage Inventory > Compliance > Reporting details, we can get yearly usage data, but we can’t segregate out how much of that usage ended up in Canada, much less at each Canadian customer, which is essentially what we want.  I don’t know what the other stuff on the Reporting details page is for (we don’t have any of it populated).

I am open to ideas on how to get this data out of AX, either through AX itself, or using Atlas.  I figure I will need to start with sales quantities and somehow explode all the item BOM’s down a few levels.

      Thanks for any suggestions.

That is interesting! We are working on something similar except by state. Will you be at the AXUG Kentucky meeting on March 23? My dev should have his report all sorted out by then and could probably give you some helpful hints as to what he did to generate the report. He will be there and I know some people from Shepherd will be as well!

      Hi Kelly,

Yes, I will be at the Kentucky meeting!  I believe that will put my attendance at Kentucky meetings one more than Ohio meetings.  It is nice to have two great groups so close.

I suppose your using item weight already…
If you were not, you could potentially only put a weight on that raw material, let the bom roll up weights, and then simply sum the weight of the finished goods sold to each customer…
