Hi folks, we are running AX2012 R2 CU7 and have 7 different legal entities.  We occasionally need to transfer assets from legal entity to another.  Standard functionality results in a transaction whereby the sending company records a disposal and the receiving company shows an acquisition.  All the history is lost.  Does anyone know a better way to perform this type of transaction?  Or, how can we segregate the transacations so we can keep track of them on our rollforwards/reports?

      Thanks.

      Hi there,
Unfortunately there isn’t a good way to do asset transfers between legal entities.  As you say the history is lost, the two assets aren’t linked in any way.  If there are any fields on the asset you’re not using, such as activity code, information 1-3, etc then you can use those to indicate it’s a transfer and the name of the linked asset in the other company.

I don’t know there is a way. I did a customization for that, in my previous job.
