      Hi,

Can anyone advise if I can set up a user’s access to a role for a time limit?Ā  The main accountant is going on holiday and so needs an assistant to do her work (and not just her approval workflows) for 2 weeks, and I’d rather not have to remember to remove the access once she’s back!Ā Ā

      Thanks.

      Gillian

I don’t know a way to do this but it would be a nice feature.Ā  I am constantly granting access to a revolving door of consultants from our partner.Ā  It would be nice to have the expire.

      Gillian,

As far as I know, there is no way to do this natively within the application. However, theĀ Identity Manager tool from FastpathĀ does exactly what you are asking for with its ‘access effective dates’.

For example, if I wanted to specify when a user should be granted a particular role I can set the start date and end date of the access. And once the request is approved, the user will be automatically granted the role on the start date and revoked the role on the end date (which can be set down to the minute).

Feel free to reach out with any questions you have.

Ah, so that inkling at the back of my mind that I had read about it somewhere was right, and it would have been in the security book my boss bought me that was written by you fastpath guys!Ā  I will pass this info onto them.Ā  Thanks.
