Short Pick exception doesn’t show up in all warehouse work
Posted by Unknown Member on February 17, 2020 at 10:16 am-
Anyone know why the short pick exception doesn’t show up on the mobile device for all warehouses?
When a worker with the exact same setup is in another warehouse that has the exact same warehouse setup they don’t have the short pick as an option.Ā Haven’t seen much online or on AXUG about work exceptions.
Thanks for any suggestions.

We don’t use cluster picking for any of the warehouses. Haven’t seen a need just yet.

Hi Trent, check the Location directives for the warehouse that it does not show. Under the Lines section of those setups, there is an “Allow split” option that must be selected. You have a similar option on the Mobile device menu that needs to be enabled.

Hi Andrew, thanks for the reply.Ā I do have them selected in both spots for all warehouses and Pick work types. We have a business that has a main production facility and 3 DC’s.Ā The main site has the ability to use Short picking while the DC’s are the sites and warehouses cannot.Ā The screen shot I attached was from the Main site, which isn’t setup any different than the DC’s as far as site setup or even warehouse setup for that matter.Ā DC mobile device screen shot below doesn’t have the option.Ā I have looked at the work user setups as well, nothing different between users at different sites.Ā Allow item allocation is selected for all users.Ā I’m stumped.Ā
Any help is appreciated.——————————

I have seen some instances (typically in AX2012 not D365) where if my settings on my location directive or Work template were not right, then I went back and fixed, that it still did not work. It was something with how it cached the settings based on the sequence I do them in. I would delete my location directives and work templates, setup the same way, then like magic… it worked. If you have this same issue in a test env. you may want to try that as it sounds like the loc. dir. parameter to allow it is there and the short pick parameter on the mobile menus is there, so it should work the same for those DCs.

That’s funny, I’ve noticed the same thing.Ā I tried recreating the location directives in a test environment and I’m not seeing the short pick exception still.Ā I will continue to look into this and let you know what I find, if anything.Ā Thanks so much for the suggestions.

Thank you so much Alice.Ā That was it.Ā I had to create a different default receipt group for the warehouses that we have and make them different than the work pick locations.Ā Very much appreciated.
