      ??Good Morning,
We’re on 2012 R3 and we use shelf advice dates for our batches. I’m having a hiccup with some of our items that don’t have an expiration date. They have a shelf life of let say 182 days (we use that field as our retest date) and we recalculate the date after it’s been retested. Our system doesn’t appear to like having a shelf life date without and expiration date. The system is back dating the batch to the 1900’s. Is there a better field to use if we’re not using an expiration date? How do you use the date fields?

      Hi Ashley,Ā
Ā  I always go back to this image for understanding the batch dates:

I’m hearing a mix of things in your question.Ā

How is your item model group set up for these items?Ā  Are you using FEFO reservation logic, and if so is it based on Expiration Date or Best Before Date? It will affect the required fields on the released product, which will in turn affect how batch dates are initialized.Ā Ā

What is getting backdated to the 1900s?Ā  The manufacturing date?
I was able to manually set a shelf advice date without an expiration date in the Batches form, but perhaps my setup for batches isn’t the same.
If you were trying to do automatic shelf advice dates from Released Products, then I imagine you (or a developer) would have to modify the code in FormsEcoResProductDetailsExtendedsetPmfObjects.Ā  In ours, the field for the fasttab Manage inventoryItem dataShelf life period in days is tied to Shelf advice period in days (probably like yours), but changing the codeĀ  for the mandatory field to true or false would probably do the trick.Ā  Wish I could be more helpful.
