?As an organization we manually create a great volume of sales orders and purchase orders on a daily basis.
BecauseĀ we do everything manually this has created a great pressure on our internal customer service department to create sales orders and linked PO’s
Then later receive and invoice. We are trying to seek automation initiatives which introduces the concept of light touch.
We basically don’t want to have to strain our resources to create these manual orders.Any organization out there which has created such automation which removes all these manual processes.
When the customer submits a sales order on the web, it should auto-create a sales order and a linked purchase orderAny customer portal out there which we can use to integrate with D 365.
Looking for feedback from AX 2012 or D 365 customers——————————

Not exactly the approach you asked about, but in B2B situations it is quite common for customers to submit their sales orders electronically (using EDI format or another format), and for that to trigger automatic creation of sales orders in Dynamics AX.
For B2C scenarios it is common to use an eCommerce website for customers to “enter” their orders themselves, and the site-AX integration automated the creation of sales orders in AX.

Interesting thread– I agree with the above comment.ĀEsker can extract the data, validate it against your master data, and spit out an EDI file to run through this automated process. Subsequently, eliminating the manual sales order entry on the front end.

Hi Ritu,
There are options to import data from e-commerce sites. You haven’t told which product you are using, but there are many integrations already done with e.g. Magento.
It would be possible to create/customize a service which would import the customer order details and also creates a purchase order. Depending if it is direct delivery or not, you could also consider grouping sales order lines on purchase orders.Ā
As a partner we have created multiple interfaces for customers using AX2009, AX2012 and also MSDyn365FO. So, for sure it is possible.——————————

Hi Ritu,Your post starts with a problem around sales and purchase orders but ends with asking only about sales order automation.Ā If there is interest in taking a look at automating purchase order management, I would suggest taking a look at http://www.sourceday.com
SourceDay integrates with any AX version through 4 SQL views and an IIS server.Ā It is a cloud platform that picks up POs from AX and drives vendors into the system for acknowledgements, changes, updates, expedites, ASNs, etc.Ā SourceDay automates what can be automated and surfaces any exceptions for the buyer to quickly see and take action on.Ā It scales from small orgs with one buyer up to large orgs in the Fortune 50.
Please email or call me if interested in a high level demo/discussion.Ā doug.everett@sourceday.com 512-361-7032
Thanks,

Hi Doug,
I have never heard of your product before, but interested to learn. However, I would like to add some comments here.
1) SQL views are not direct accessible using Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations. You have to use OData or Services.Ā
2) Just mentioning SQL views does not sound very secure to me, initially.Apart from this, I will have a look at your site to see what your company can offer for potential future customers. But our initial goal as always is trying to solve business scenarios with products available within the Dynamics 365 license.

Hi,
Recently I came across a post that showed how to use Flow and LUIS for that purpose.
http://www.dynamiacs.com/index.php/dynamiacs-blog/flow/53-creating-sales-order-using-luis
Not sure whether this is an option for you.
Probably check out the post.
Best regards,
