We have an open production order that is getting the following message: Posting – Report as finished journal Journal: PRJ-480077 Voucher: PRF-172867 Line number: 1.00 Production: PR-025783 Item number: 30305-0400-1000-2 Quantity ordered cannot be reduced because there are not enough open inventory transactions with the ordered status. The items are Purchased, Received or Registered. The journal is not posted and the update is canceled.
Our process has the PickList and RAF journals post when a route card is posted. Ā The production order had several route cards post correctly but began throwing the error above and now the RAF journals are not posting. Ā Can someone help me with the steps to get these journals to post properly?

It sounds like you are missing inventory transaction records linked to the production order header.Ā You can verify this by clicking the Transactions button in the Inventory section of the Production order ribbon at the top of the all production orders form.Ā You would normally have transactions at an “Ordered” status with quantities that add up to the open quantity on the production order header.Ā
I can’t say where the transactions have gone.Ā I think that marking an order as Finished will delete all the remaining InventTrans records that are at an Ordered status.Ā The only way that I have ever been able to get the records back is to use SQL to insert the InventTrans records.Ā You will need to make sure that you have the correct InventTransOrigin and InventTransOriginProdTable records.
