I’m trying to use DIEF to update the Value ABC classification on product records. Ā My input file only has the minimum required fields plus the new ABC value. Ā The update is successful, but most of the other data on the updated items is wiped out, including pricing, costs, descriptions, search names, Item model groups, and almost everything else.
Is there some setting for DIEF to tell it only to update the imported fields?

I haven’t seen this behavior before. If you edit the source to target field mapping, you can clear all fields except the primary key and ABC fields. This should work. If you need the entity for other purposes as well you can consider duplicating the current entity and modify the list of fields for this one.
Your experience with DIEF(or DIXF, or DMF)Ā is the same as mine.Ā That fields not specified are cleared.Ā
You can modify the mapping to change this however: 1. Got to the DIEF Area Page 2. Open Target Mapping 3.Modify Target Mapping 1.Switch to Details View 2.Select the mapping to remove 3.Delete the mapping 4.Save your changes
Now you won’t update those fields which are removed.
Hopefully this helps.Ā
The alternative approach is to modify the DMF class to make it act the way you want.Ā Ā
