      Hi Guys,

      Ā

Our D365 has been updated with Finance and Operations (10.0.7); Update 31 (7.0.5457.35488), and since then we are encountering an issue where Purchaser orders are not able to fully go through the workflow process.

      Ā

Workflow fails at the stage where it tries to look for the appropriate approver, i.e. Department/business unit manager/owner, and throws us with the below error.

      Ā

Stopped (error): SysWorkflowQueue-resumeĀ Ā Ā Ā  X++ Exception: Participant token ‘Dept_Manager’ does not resolve to any user

      at SysWorkflowParticipantProvider-resolve

      SysWorkflowParticipantProvider-resolveParticipants

      SysWorkflowServiceProvider-resolveParticipant

      SysWorkflowQueu

      Ā Ā

Please note, workflow was working fine until the Microsoft update, and apart from this update there has not been any changes made.

Has anyone here encountered the same issue, or can advise on any fix.

      Ā

      Thanks

      Sharneel

      Hi Sharneel,

We are not yet on 10.0.7, so these are just some general workflow trouble-shooting steps I usually go through:
      – How is your workflow set up, with managerial hierarchy?Ā
      – Do you have a user group for the dept managers, and if so, is that set up in your environment? Seeing that the error says resolve participants, looks like the assignment of a workflow step somehow got messed up.
      – Make sure the workflow you are trying to run is set to be the default and active (I know it seems obvious, but switching it to another default and back to the one I want has solved issues for me before).
      – Do you have a test environment with the same setups/versions and does the workflow work there? Compare the two and see if there are any differences.

excellent suggestions, as workflows could easily be hit during a update. One question I have is are you testing your system in a lower environment before you allow the new update to be applied. If you are not then I really think you should look at RSAT and instituting a regression test plan before each update. That is what we do and we have not hit any surprises yet.
