Planned Purchase Orders AX2012 vs D365

    Hello all,

    • In AX2012, Planned Order Delivery dates were able to be overridden with a different delivery date within the lead time, and the order would firm with the violation of the lead time, and applied to the delivery date on the PO.
    • Now in D365, when the delivery date is entered sooner than lead time on the Planned Purchase Order, the delivery date field automatically pushes the delivery date out to the calculated lead time from today’s date.

Is the D365 a configuration issue or is this now standard functionality? If standard, I get it, however, our material planners are hating it because it requires extra steps for them to firm the planned order, then going to the PO and changing the delivery date.

As always, thanks for your assistance.

Hi Erick, this is standard functionality in D365. I don’t remember much about this in AX, but I can see why the end users are frustrated. Ultimately, the system is allowing MRP to do its job by utilizing the lead times set up on the items and in trade agreements to push those delivery dates out appropriately.
