Hi All

please any one can clarify different impacts of period on hold vs closed

As my understanding is once period status is closed, AX or D365 wont be able to open, please clarify or confirm..thanks

Najeem,

If you ever need to reopen a period to make an adjustment, use On Hold. Once you Close a period, it CANNOT be reopened. We’ve been on Dynamics in various forms since 2013. We don’t go back and make adjustments to prior periods but we always put our periods On Hold just in case.

That is correct. We were told to never close a period. Just put it on hold because if a period is closed it cannot be reopened.
