      Hi all,

I am wondering if anyone stores NAICS code on Vendors in D365 F&O? I haven’t found a specific field for that and am not sure if it just doesn’t exist or if I am missing something. I’m thinking I might just need to re-purpose an existing field until we upgrade to PU15 / 8.1 and can create a custom field.

      Thank you,
      Pat

      Hi Patrick,

There is a field on the vendor called Organization number. This can be used to store an unique number like NAICS. There is also a field for a DUNS number where you can enable a check on duplicates.

Good idea. We will be using the DUNS field for the actual DUNS number as well, but I think Org Number should work nicely. Thank you!

Thank you both for your ideas.

I received some additional advice that I think might actually be the best answer. It was suggested to use the Business Classifications table to load all of the NAICS codes and descriptions into. Then on the Vendor record, under the General tab, you can assign a Business Classification.
