We recently upgraded to Windows 10. I downloaded the Microsoft Dynamics Office Add in prior to upgrading to Windows 10 but my users did not. Now when they are trying to download, the download appears to be successful, but when they attempt to “Open lines in excel” from Dynamics, the workbook opens but it does not connect as it should. I am not 100% certain if the Windows 10 upgrade is causing this but was wondering if anyone else has experienced similar issues with this tool.

The error message my users are getting reads:

      ADD-IN ERROR
This add-in could not be started. Close this dialog to ignore the problem or click “Restart” to try again.

Doing the suggested steps does no good. We have tried doing this in Chrome, IE, and Edge to no avail.Ā

      Any suggested solutions?

      Hi Carl,

I know there was an issue with Microsoft with the add ins.Ā  We put in a ticket last week and it was a known issue.Ā  But we also use Centralized deployment and there are some settings you need to change under Office app parameters.Ā  You can find the details here:Ā

      https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/fin-ops-core/dev-itpro/office-integration/office-integration-troubleshooting?toc=%2Ffin-and-ops%2Ftoc.json#can-the-excel-add-in-and-word-add-in-be-made-available-to-users-using-centralized-deploymentĀ Ā

We have found what version of office the user has makes a difference as well.Ā  Office 365 worked with the below method but 2016 did not.

I hope this may help you narrow it down.

      Thanks,
