      AX2012 R3 CU11 – WHS enabled

We are experiencing an issue where master schedulng is not generating planned purchase orders for formula items during the overnight batch job in this specific situation.

Production order is created, estimated, and scheduled.

We need to replace an item in the production order formula so we reset the status of the production order to created and replace the existing item by reducing the quantity to zero, add the new item, and then re-estimate and re-schedule.

We have found that, after this process, when master scheduling runs overnight it is not generating new planned purchase orders for the new item. Even if you add a min coverage setting it still does not create any planned purchase orders.

However, if you run net requirements on the new item, planned purchase orders are generated as expected.

We have reviewed master planning parms, coverage group settings, master plan settings, and have recalculated BOM levels to no avail.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

      Thanks.

      Hi Dan,

Not entirely sure if it’s the same issue but there was a hotfix for CU11 relating to BOM levels. Maybe something you need?

KB3178134 “Recalculate BOM levels does not correct BOM levels for raw materials in certain ProductionBatch order scenarios causing MRP Explosion problems “

A new table, ReqItemLevel, was introduced to be used for planning purposes as there were instances where the BOMlevel could not be used to properly represent the structure for MRP purposes and for BOM purposes.

One of my client’s recently had a similar issue with this, if I remember correctly, running from Net requirements is a bit different in the way it hits that new table as compared to running from the Periodic job.

As a follow up – we have seen that new items are not being added tot he reqitemlevel table.

      Hi Dan,

Do you have a batch job to Delete plans prior to running your Master scheduling batch jobs?
