      ?Hi All,

There’s been a news that Microsoft is discontinuing development on MR. If so, then how long the support will continue? Does Microsoft have any plans to replace it with another tool? I’m specifically interested with regards to AX.

Any input would be much appreciated.

      Thanks,

The articles brought by John are from 2016, last time there were lots of rumours flying aroundĀ  MR is to be discontinued.
This was when MR was re-branded, and made an integral part ofĀ  D365, and as such Microsoft stopped developing it as an independent product (but still continued to support it)

At the moment, for D365, there are no official intentions to discontinue MR

Some people are exploring the possibility to build financial reports in PowerBI. Not clear at all how this exploration will turn out.
I don’t think you have to worry about any imminent discontinuation.
This tool is used by very many customers at the moment on both AX2012 and D365.
