I watched a webinar today by Belinda Allen regarding becoming a Microsoft MVP. After the webinar, I went to the MVP website atĀ Microsoft MVP Award and looked at the list of the MVPs for Business Applications. To my dismay, only 9.0% of all the MVPs were women. I am currently implementing D365FO, moving from NAV. In an effort to learn all that I can about the new platform, setting a goal of becoming an MVP over the next 9-12 months seemed like a good idea. Now that I know the numbers, it seems like a fabulous idea. Challenge accepted!? #MicrosoftMVP ?#ProfessionalDevelopment? #UnifiedOperations?

      Excellent!

You may also want to look into the Women in Dynamics community.

      Best,

Robin, I was the first Dynamics AX MVP in the world, and I’m female!Ā  That would mean, back in 2000 and something, we started with 100% female MVPs, even though just in the ERP community!Ā  My award came after significant contribution to the “greater good” and I loved every minute of it. The additional insights I was afforded, along with the ability to connect with the product team within Microsoft, only added more fuel to my fire. I even had the privilege of meeting and working a little with a younger, and already incredibly charismatic Satya Nadella, as he led the Dynamics product team the time. I felt the professional rewards of becoming an MVP at the time were worth every late evening and weekend time I gave. With the MVP status comes obligation, and a year after I was awarded I started my family. With a new baby arriving in my life something had to give, and it was the dedication I had to contributing to the AX community. As a full time working mother time becomes your greatest asset, and it was simply too much to hold on to everything. I do not regret letting go of the commitment, or the status, but I’ve never lost the enthusiasm to contribute.Ā  I’ve just got back from Microsoft Inspire, where it is great to see so many female leaders within the Microsoft team, however that was not at all reflected within the partner community. We need more women who have the kind of energy and dedication you express, to push to get recognition through MVP programs and the like. Can say to you, enjoy the challenge,Ā and GO FOR IT!!

      Hi Robin,

Excellent news! We need more women to join us in the MVP ranks. Although I do have to second what Debbie said – it’s a lot of hard work to maintain that status!Ā

Let me know if you need anything on your journey. I am here for whatever you need.

Although I am not an MVP ;-( , I’m happy to be part of the discussion as well.Ā  I was challenged and made it a personal goal to get the auspicious title, spent a year at it but in the end did not do enough to receive it!Ā  I am very proud of KellyĀ being awarded.Ā  We chatted back and forth during our journey…Ā  I’ll be at Summit, and the three of us should get together.Ā  If Ā is attending, we should have her join us too.??

Yay! GG, I would be very happy to get together with you, Kelly, and .

There was an article that was posted back in July on the MSDynamicsWorld.com website that spoke to how the MVP pool had declined by 21.5% over the last year and that the evaluation and award criteria is largely unknown and may be changing with the diminishing activities related to on-premises technology.
The way of the Microsoft MVP: While some bask, other current and former awardees ponder the program’s direction – MSDynamicsWorld.com

Eight days later, on the same website, there was another article statingĀ Microsoft was alerting some MVPs that the program is adjusting its categories and contribution areas.Ā
Microsoft updates MVP categories and contribution areas for Dynamics 365, Project – MSDynamicsWorld.com

It would be worth getting togetherĀ at Summit to see what each of us knows, what we don’t know, and the low-down on what we need to do over the next year (and beyond) to achieve our goal of obtaining or maintaining our MVP status.

?, I did not see those articles on MS Dynamics World.Ā  I submitted back in 2016 and then resubmitted in 2017.
