      Hi All,
I’m trying to post a partial vendor invoice.  AX threw an error.  Has anyone seen it? What caused it? How did you fix it?  Thanks

I would start with doing the following to see if it can resolve the issue:

      1. Perform a full database sync
      2. Perform a compile
      3. Perform a full CIL

If it does not, then debugging would be the next step.

We received that error on at least 2 occasions that I’m aware of.

The first time we received it, the user was trying to access an MS Word template stored in SharePoint.  The error was due to a missing configuration value for the WSDL (web services) port.  Our help desk just entered the missing value and the user did not get that error anymore.

I don’t remember exactly what a different user was doing when the error was received the 2nd time, but it was resolved by performing the steps above suggested by Josh Lee.  In fact, if you google that error msg, many of the suggested fixes mention those steps.

      Kim,
This error is a generic “AX tried to do something and failed” message. Generally this happens when customizations have been written without any error trapping. Has this process been customized? Looking at the event logs of the AOS and/or the client machine may reveal a more detailed message. If it doesn’t, a developer will probably have to run the process through the debugger or tracing cockpit to find out exactly where the error is happening.
