We are trying to load budget information into AX2012 R2 using an Excel template. It works great as long as the user is in the system administrator role. If we take the system administrator role away, the user gets an error message stating they do not have permission to modify data in database. They cannot create a record in Generic document service cache (AifGdsCache). The user is in the AX Budget Manager role along with other accounting roles. I was told that only system administrators can import data. But if that was true then the Excel plugin and other tools like Atlas would have limited use. Has anyone had success in importing budget data via Excel plugin? If so, what role(s) are required to get it to work. Thanks in advance. Roger

It sounds like you are using add-Tables to directly edit tables instead of using Add-Data to publish to BudgetTransactionService. If the user needs to publish directly to the tables, you either need to grant them system administrator or you need a mod to allow users that privilege. If you use the service, a user should be able to publish to it so long as they have access to the underlying tables in the service query.
