      Hi all,

This should be an easy one.  In AX 2012 R2, do you have to check the End job box when posting the last RAF journal for a production batch order?  We do a lot of make to order, so we ship the entire batch that is made, and we End all RAF’d batches by the end of every month.  So the chance of anyone going back and trying to post more RAF are slim.  Are there any other issues if you do not check the box before Ending the batch?

      Thank you

We are using AX 2012 R3 so it could be different in r2 but this is my experience.
Yes, you will need to make sure the “End Job” check box is checked when you are doing your last RAF.  If you don’t then the End function for closing out the Production Order will not be available.  The button will be grayed out for this Production Order until you have done a RAF with the “End Job” check box checked.

*Just a note you can always go back and do a RAF for a quantity of 0 with this box checked if someone forgets (the only catch is that you will need to go into the Default Values and select “Accept Error” to make this work.

It’s also one of those check boxes that AX remembers so it’ll stay checked.

As others have stated, if you partially RAF’d and it was never selected, then you would see the open quantity on the production order still as an open transaction so that would be obvious that you would need to update the order. One common thing I have done in the past is setup a batch job for production orders with Report Remainder as Finished quantity = 0. It will do what Daniel mentioned posting a RAF journal for a qty of 0 while closing out any open transactions, i.e. partial receipts or bom lines that weren’t reported. You can do that by going to the Periodic section of Production Control and setting up a Production Order Update > Report as Finished batch job with select criteria.
