We are currently using D365 for Finance and Operations and are looking into utilizing the “Warehousing App,” whichĀ enables material handling, receiving, picking, putting, cycle counting, and production processes through a mobile device / scanner and updates D365 through the cloud “real-time”.Does anyone use the Warehousing App? And if so, which hand-held scanner are you using? Ideally, we do not want to use a mobile device, as a phone would ultimately get destroyed or broken in our factory/warehouse. Therefore, does anyone know which scanner devices are compatible with the D365 Warehousing App?
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Rebecca,
The system can support any some recent Android or Windows device, so many options for hardware support the app. However, last month MS mentioned they do want to stop support for older versions based on this post by the R&D team in their Yammer forums:Ā “On another note here we are considering to stop support for any Windows versions below 1709 (10.0.16299). This will be for future versions of the warehouse mobile app, as we need to update some platform frameworks. We would also at some point stop supporting Android 4.4, so please try to keep devices updated.”Even though it’s called the mobile app, you will find most companies use scanners and tablets rather than phones.Ā Here is a list of devices Microsoft R&D uses for their testing which are scan guns.Ā

Here are other options that are commonly used:– Zebra: TC20, TC25, TC51, TC56, TC70, ET50
– Honeywell: CN80, EDA70, EDA60, CT60
– Panasonic: FZF1BCC
Hope this helps!!

Thank you very much! This is extremely helpful and useful!Where did you find the table that you shared in your response post? Is there a Microsoft URL for even more detail regarding the Warehousing App and R&D?

Hi Rebecca, you should be able to use the link below to request to join the free yammer group. They have many for D365, including this one for WHS and TMS:

Hi Rebecca,We are about to go live using the warehouse scanner application. We are using the Honeywell Dolphin CT40. So far this device has worked great for us. Let me know if you have any more questions.

We had a joint venture with Honeywell to help tie these products into AX and D365
