We are looking for a solution to manage contracts, both customer and vendor contracts. Ideally we would like the customer contracts to be able to specify down to the part number level. Would also need to be able to manage vendor contracts for service, such as phone contracts and building maintenance. Would like some type of alerts for reminders for contracts about to expire. Any product that integrates with AX for this type of contract management?
We are running Dynamics AX 2012 R3.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Tara,
You may be interested in Sales agreements and Purchase agreements. I did an AXUG webinar on that last year for my AX for Dummies series, but it was not recorded or something happened that the recording didn’t get posted correctly.
Anyway, I do believe that these are what you are looking for and I will attach my slide deck from the presentation. I rely pretty heavily on demo and discussion for my webinars.
Purchase and Sales agreements are set up to reflect Product quantity commitments, Product value commitments, Value commitments, and product category value commitment.
I also wrote a blog post about this – but tied it to using Sales agreements for employee sales. You can take what I say in there and use it for an example of contract management: Using Sales Agreements in AX in an Unorthodox Manner (Hint – To Track Employee Sales)
Axsoup remove preview Using Sales Agreements in AX in an Unorthodox Manner (Hint – To Track Employee Sales) While preparing for an installment of the AX for Dummies series regarding Sales and Purchasing Agreements in AX, I came up with what I thought was a pretty good idea that may seem a bit unorthodox but can solve a simple company problem! Stop me if you’ve heard this before. View this on Axsoup > Let me know if you have any questions!

I have also had clients who use Projects for similar requirements. Projects have work breakdown structures to define a sequence of tasks that can be done. You also have options for things like store area templates that could manage the products for the contract, forecasting demand for a project to drive item requirements, link customer and vendor orders to the project, etc. Might be worth taking a look with your partner at that option and how to configure it for you requirements.

You may want to contact CGI (FlexProperty). They have an ISV that handles contracts, maintenance, etc very well.

Hi, Tara
First, thanks for being a Red Maple customer. Our product Advanced Trade is a contracts module that tracks both customer and vendor obligations, pricing, billings, deferred revenue/expense and assets purchased. It has existed since Version 3.0 of AX and is available in 2012 and D365 for Operations.
Have a great week.
