We’ve started running D365FO in my company and some raw materials are released to several legal entities.
The commodity code has to be populated manually on each released item (in every legal entity).
Is there a way to setup the commodity code at product level instead?
Thanks for your feedbacks!

Alexandra, in short, I don’t think so. MSFT seem to have a view that not a lot happens at the product level. I would suggest the best course would be to use DIXF or ODATA and the relevant data entity to populate the codes with minimal manual effort and/or monitor for any missing or inconsistent setup across legal entities.

Thanks for your answer Jonathan. I’m a bit disappointed, I don’t get why this is not manageable at product level – hopefully that can be improved in the future.
If I understand your proposal right, you mean export data from one company then import it in the other?

Alexandra, I have a list of Dynamics disappointments too !!
Depending on your business processes then yes, I would envisage one legal entity taking the lead and doing the code setup manually and then using DIXF or ODATA to populate or update the codes in other companies to make it quick and error free.
