In AX 2009, we occasionally (but very frustratingly) get the classic error:Ā Cannot edit a record in Net requirements (ReqTrans). An update conflict occurred due to another user process deleting the record or changing one or more fields in the record
In our case it occurs when users are trying to manually create planned orders (production or purchase) after the nightly MP update completes. On days when it does occur, it typically occurs for every item they try. They have to update the MP for that item to clear the error, and then the next item that they try has the same error – leading to an intensely frustrating cycle – and flaming emails to me. Given how long our plan takes to run and the impact it has on performance, it is not realistic to re-run the whole plan during the day – so the planners lose a day of productivity. This is a leading cause of the festering mutiny to go back to SAP instead of forward to D365.
I’ve done searching on the web and found multiple posts about this error, but never for this situation exactly (creating planned orders) and never see a definitive solution.
Anyone that can shed any light on this problem:
are there things we can be looking for on the back end when it happens (like DB locks)
is there a solution for this particular situation?
is there a brute force way to clear the locks/conflicts on the table that we could at least have IT do when the situation happens?
Any help/info would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Gary
