Hi everyone

We are having an issue when we are attempting to cancel the ship remain of a TO.  We are on AX 2012 CU11 and this is an intermittent issue that we cannot determine the issue behind it.

The scenario is that the TO has been released to the warehouse and then has been short picked (using an RF or GUI) all the lines have been closed on the work and the TO has been shipped (using the confirm shipment on the work)

When we attempt to remove the under picked to release the reservation that this TO has on the inventory using functions deliver remainder, cancel quantity we receive the following error

Reservations cannot be removed because there is work created which relies on the reservations.

There were other lines on this TO that we were able to use this function and remove these remainder amounts.

The TO can be shipped and received at the other warehouse locations, but we would like to have the reservation removed and then the status of the TO changed to be Received.  Currently they stay in Created status.

I have attempted to “reduce Picked Quantity” on the Load, and also delete the line on the shipment.  None of the options on the AX client seem to work for me.

Just throwing out options here… Have you tried going to Inventory > Reservations on your transfer order to take the remainder back to 0. This should take the reservation off. I’m assuming it didn’t create the work ID’s for the remainder you are trying to cancel.

Before you ship it, you should cancel any lines not picked, then on the transfer order lines do a cancel on the delivery remainder. then ship. This should work, the other option is to do exactly as suggested and once you ship it, remove the reservation to clear the delivery reservation.

Good morning,

we’ve experienced similar behaviour from load lines linked to sales orders on AX 2012 R3 CU12 and it seems like there is a bug when you reverse picking on those lines.  Look at the WHSLoadLine table in the AOT and compare all quantity related fields for that specific line.  They must match what’s really been picked and if they don’t, you’ll get that same error message when trying to cancel the deliver remainder on the lines.  I’ve started looking for a hotfix in CU13 but haven’t confirmed if this is fixed yet. So far, my resolution is always manual when this situation occurs.

What to you do manually to fix this?  I cannot seem to update any of those QTY fields in the AOT.

Hi Todd,

I usually just execute an update_recordset statement to fix the quantity fields directly from the table browser window.  Not too convenient for it to be resolved by a regular user, needs AOT access, but it doesn’t happen often so it hasn’t been a real nuisance yet.  I hope to find a hotfix for this though, but I don’t have much hope with D365 being the latest version and AX 2012 support coming to an end relatively soon.  If I don’t find an official fix, we’ll have to do a customization to prevent this from happening.
