I am currently trying to see how best I can use bartender with Dynamics 365 F&O, I am currently creating a label in bartender for Po receiving ?and am trying to take the code and paste it into the document layout section in the WMS module so that the PO labels will follow that layout. But I am having issues with the barcode embedding the data from the PO I receive into the barcode – for example imbed an item number in the barcode when label gets printed.Ā
is there a step I am missing in this? Do I need to integrate bartender into D365 for the barcodes to have the correct data or is there another solution for this which I do not know about. Also is there a way to connect the D365 data base to bartender data sources?Ā
thank You,

Nakib, you can connect Bartender to the D365 SQL database (or the Action Analytics BYOD database).Ā You’ll need a read-only SQL account either way. Then for each label you can write SQL code to pull the data from D365. Bartender allows you to create a query prompt (for example a PO Number), once entered, Bartender retrieves the data from SQL and populates the data fields/bar codes. They have excellent tutorials on their website. You will need someone to write the queries to pull the data. Hope that helps.Ā Ā

It sounds like you are trying to use the built-in label printing feature with Advanced Warehouse.Ā Is that correct?
What exactly are you copying from BT and pasting into D365F&O?Ā Where are you pasting it exactly?
Screen captures would be very helpful.

Hi Nakib,Ā
See below for a blog I wrote on this topic several years ago.Ā This was written for AX 2012 but the same process is still in place for D365 label printing.Ā The trick is to convert the Bartender label to a ZPL format, and then there is a mapping exercise within D365 to map the appropriate fields to the ZPL (see step 7 in the attached blog).Ā Ā
