#UnifiedOperations #AX2012Hello everyone.Ā
We are using AX2012R3 CU10. The system is configured to use advanced warehouse management and we also use license plate to identify pallets in the inbound area or receiving location, afterwards, the product is transferred to the bulk area, and then is moved to the staging area.Ā
Receiving and Bulk locations are configured to use license plate tracking, staging locations are not.Ā
We want to turn off the use of this license plate on every profile location, but I’m not sure if turning it off on this profile location would be all we need to do, since we have imported products and register costs by each customs import application. Would this affect our operation in any way?ĀCan you please advise on what would be the best approach to do this modification on our system?Ā
Thank you.

Hi Mario,
Once you have inventory transactions using license plates in a location, you can no longer turn off license plate tracking.Ā You will need to create all new locations and assign a profile that does not have license plate tracking.Ā——————————

#UnifiedOperations #AX2012Thank you Sarah, considering your recommendations,Ā we might have to try in our test environment th???e following steps, in case we don’t want to create new locations:Ā
– Run inventory management cleaning.
– Configure Receiving locations with new location profile with no license plate tracking.
– Instead of sending product to bulk area, send it to staging area.Ā
– Change default receiving location in warehouse settings to the new receiving location. We are thinking of changing every bulk area to picking area, eventually.Ā
We will also need to rent order picker forklifts, but we will have to find a way to release to warehouse by zone or aisle.ĀBest,

Hi Mario,
When we went live, replenishment was not working for us and caused a lot pain. Since then, I have configured min/max and demand replenishment. We have someone in early morning run through all replenishment work before sales order picking starts. Min/Max runs in small batches throughout the day to stay ahead of demand replenishment. Demand replenishment will only create work for the exact quantity needed. This keeps the pickers at the lower locations for all the sales order work.Ā
My Min/Max setup was very complicated because we have different size picking locations and many different size master cases. Our logistics team wanted the flexibility to switch items to different fixed locations based on sales order demand. The Min/Max is set to look at the location profile and the physical dimension group ID along with different product variant attributes.——————————

Thank you very much, Sarah.Ā
After a lot of testing, it was decided to gradually change bulk locations into picking locations, and grouping items in racks by code, therefore, the fixed location contains the product, and with colors the FIFO will be controlled, putting on top of the rack the newest product, and at the base, the oldest.Ā In fact, the max/min replenishment templates are now a must to be run, as you mentioned.ĀBest regards.
