      Hello,

There is no way to do this OOB, like any good financial system the only way to correct incorrect postings is by reversing and re-booking correctly. Back in the day when we had this situation we used to use an inventory movement journal to write off the inventory, and then another entry to bring inventory back into the system with the correct financial dimensions. The only caveat is that this might cause some valuation inconsistencies depending on your inventory value model.

      regards,

      Hi Pirmin.

We’re currently in a similar situation. We’re upgrading AX R2>R3 and also ManagmentReporter (MR) CU7>CU16.Ā
During testing, we discovered MR rejects “bad” records resulting in skewed reports.

By analyzing the rejected data, we determined the two tables (GENERALJOURNALACCOUNTENTRY (GJAE) and BUDGETTRANSACTIONLINE (BTL)) where a change to the financial dimension will need to be made.Ā

I wrote a script that will do this for us. We have over 5,000 such records (results of keying errors over last 6 years).

So far, we have done this in our non-production system and all looks good. Our consultants gave us the green light.Ā

But, if you only have a handful of records, it may be faster/easier/safer to do what Juan suggested.Ā

      Hi Pirmin,

      Hope you’re doing well.

Depending on the version of Dynamics AX/365FO you’re using and the volume of such transactions to be corrected, either create the transactions via template upload and post them, or try the ledger allocation functionality which lets you transfer balances from ledger accounts, financial dimensions or combinations of both, to other ledger accounts, financial dimensions or combinations of both.

      Regards,
      Nanditha

      Hi Pirmin,

Sure! Glad to help. šŸ™‚ The feature setup and execution is from the GL module in AX 2012 R3. First, set up a journal in the GL module journals form of the type Allocation. You will find the ledger allocation functionality in the posting section under the setup folder in the GL. I would recommend either using the amount or percentage methods of allocation. If the ledger accounts used in your transactions are correct and only financial dimension values in the transactions are wrong, then let the source and destination accounts be the same, only define the financial dimension value from where the change is to be made in the source dimension and define the correct dimension value in the destination dimension value. The results of executing this (Process from periodic tasks), is the creation of an allocation journal, which the user can review and post.

Please let me know if this works.

      Best Regards,
      Nanditha
