      Good morning everyone,

Our manual accrual for service POs is the bottleneck in our month end close process. We are looking into automating the service PO accrual process and I understand that the majority of companies with automation use home-grown systems. Have anyone implemented any 3rd party AX add-on in this area? I’ve seen Gappify and Accrualify.com. Does anyone have experience with these ERP add-on’s or can you please share your experience in accrual automation in AX?

      Thanks,
      Wenlie

      Hello Wenlie,

Can you provide a bit more context on the manual accrual that is booked for Service PO’s during your month-end process? Is the accrual based on an estimate? If so how is it calculated? Also, how time-consuming is this process currently? There may be some out-of-the-box functionality that would meet your needs based on the information provided.

Technically you do have some out of the box options if you’re on AX 2012.  You could check the box to “Accrue Liability on Product Receipt” on the model group you’re using for your Service items.  But you’d want to test this out to ensure there’s enough segregation between your inventory accrual and your service accrual in both the ledger itself and your Accrued Purchases report (likely run by item group).  Hopefully this is helpful!
