We are using AX 2012 r3 and manufacture lotions using formulas and Production Batch Orders.Ā
We have run into a situation a few times now and looking for a better way to handle it.Ā The situation is that we have a certain raw material item that for whatever reason we can no longer get. So we have to setup a new item number and need to find all of the formulas that use the old item and replace it with the new item.Ā Is there a better way to do this than simply using the “Where-Used” functionality and manually making those changes?Ā
I have researched the uses of the “Alternative Item” functionality however that requires advanced knowledge of this and setting up the formula lines in advanced with a plan group and using the alternative item. *At least that is my understanding of how it works.
Anyone have any good thoughts or ideas on this?
Thank you for your assistance.
