Is anyone else experiencing a problem with the Advanced Bank Reconciliation finding more than one item that matches a rule set and just matching to the first one it finds? We went from 7.2 (where if the rules found more than one item matching, it would not match any) to 10.0.2 (where we noticed the rules now match to the first item it finds). We now have to double check the matched items to make sure it did not mismatch any items. I tried talking to Microsoft, but I am getting the “works as designed” talk from the Product Team and that we should tighten our rules. I can make the rules as tight as possible, but we have offices across the country that deposit to the bank daily, so a mismatch has come up more than once. I tried explaining to them that a business would never want to match the wrong item on a bank rec, but I am getting nowhere with them.Ā I suppose I am looking to see if anyone else is affected or if anyone has a solution to getting them to listen to what makes sense in the business world.
I was just browsing around here to get wiser on the advanced reconciliation, as we are currently testing with the aim to start up shortly. When testing and assessing use, a key question coming to my mind was exactly this about how the functionality behaves with regards to similar looking transactions (same amount & date) – because we are likely to have quite a few of such transactions.
In other words – unfortunately I don’t have a solution to the issue you are facing – but would be very keen to learn more

We have been really happy with the advanced bank rec as it has been a real time saver. It is unfortunate that Microsoft refuses to see this as a regression as it used to not match duplicates, but ignore them, which is what you would want so you can manually match them to the correct item.
I did find that someone has logged this in Microsoft Ideas (the only option when a Microsoft Product Team refuses to fix a bug). I suggest you go to this idea and vote it upĀ https://experience.dynamics.com/ideas/idea/?ideaid=515b137d-ce14-ea11-b265-0003ff68d524Ā I would also share the link with you colleagues and get them to vote as well. this seems to be the only place where enough votes might actually get someone’s attention. If you have never been to this site, you only need your Microsoft log-in to vote in here.
