      HI All

I am surprise to noticed this behavior.

Under the Balance Sheet Account structure we dont have Department at all, where as others like Location, Business Unit are all optional (with or without Balance Sheet transactions can post. However for P&L Account structure department is mandatory

Department are assigned to worker in their profile in HR module. When employee submit PR for P&L account and if department is missing, PR form error out. However if its Balance Sheet itemĀ  is in PR where department is not in Account structure however Department is attached with Employee record, there is no error message and PRĀ  submitted, approved, become PO and from their invoice.

      Any feed back or suggestion

      Thanks and kind regards

If I understand you, your issue is that you expected to see an error message when a PR has a redundant dimensions value? (Department populated on PR, however the ledger account the PR is posting into does not have that dimension?

If that’s the issue, this is the out of the box behavior of account structures, and it always been like that.
If you are missing a dimensions value on the document, and the ledger account requires it, you will get an error message.
If you have a dimension value on the document, and the ledger account does not require it, the dimension will simply be ignored, no error /warning message.
