Built a $5 CRM after getting frustrated with expensive tools
I didnāt set out to build a CRM. I just got tired of paying for one.
Like many small business owners, I started with spreadsheets, sticky notes, and a mix of tools that never quite worked together. Eventually, I upgraded to popular CRM platformsābut quickly realized I was paying for features I didnāt need, buried under complexity I didnāt ask for. The monthly costs kept rising, while my actual workflow stayed messy.
That frustration turned into curiosity: what if a CRM could be simple, affordable, and actually built for small teams?
So I started building one.
The goal was never to compete with big names. It was to solve everyday problemsātracking leads without confusion, managing follow-ups without missing opportunities, and having a clear pipeline without endless customization. I stripped everything down to the essentials and focused on usability over feature overload.
The biggest challenge wasnāt technicalāit was restraint. Every time I thought of adding a new feature, I had to ask: does this really help a small business, or is it just noise? That mindset kept the product lean and practical.
Eventually, I launched a version that costs just $5. Not as a gimmick, but as a reflection of what I believe software should be: accessible and fair. Small businesses shouldnāt have to choose between affordability and functionality.
Since then, the most rewarding part hasnāt been the product itselfāitās hearing from users who finally feel in control of their sales process without feeling overwhelmed.
I didnāt build a perfect CRM platforms. I built one that solves real problems without overcomplicating themāand sometimes, thatās exactly what people need.
