      Hello,
I’m trying to rename a User and getting an error message that I don’t have Modify rights to the Change Log Entry table.Ā  I was surprised to get any permissions errors since I have Super permissions.Ā  Anyway, I gave myself full rights to the Change Log Entry table, but I still get the same error.Ā  Has anyone run into this problem before?

You do not have access to Insert, Modify or Delete to Change Log directly but do have access Indirectly.Ā  Meaning specific objects will grant you permission to insert, modify or delete this table.Ā  For example if you look at report 510 “Change Log – Delete” there is a property called Permissions that is set to TableData Change Log Entry=rid (Read, Insert and Delete).Ā  So this is one of the only places that allows you to Delete change log entries in all of NAV.Ā  My guess is that you might have some custom code somewhere on a Rename trigger on a table that is causing an issue.Ā  If someone could debug they would probably find your issue pretty quick.
      2 thoughts:
      1) Turn off the change log completely, rename your user, turn on the change log.Ā  I think this will probably solve your issue.
      2) If not then run report 405 “License Permission” and check TableData 405 Change Log.Ā  Confirm you have indirect permission under Insert,Modify and Delete like this:

If you do not then you need your license refreshed.

Please respond if neither of these things helps.

Jason, thanks for your reply.Ā  I reached out to my VAR to help me debug.Ā  He discovered the process was getting hung up on a different company.Ā  I turned off logging in all companies and cleared the logs in all companies, ran the rename again and it worked.
