      Hello,

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to have the same setup as a Transfer Order, but instead of it transferring between two warehouses, have it transfer between two locations within the same warehouse?Ā

      Thanks!

?To move between bins in the same location (Warehouse), depending on your location configuration, you’ll use the bin movement worksheet, Whse Reclass. Journal, or Item Reclass Journal.

      Hello Nick,

It depends on how you have setup your locations. On the Transfer Order, Transfer-From and Transfer-To fields are referred to locations. These locations could be two different locations within the same warehouse or two different warehouses in different locations.Ā

Typically if you need to move the inventory within the same warehouse, you would setup as one warehouse with different Bins and then you can transfer inventory between the bins using “Whse. Reclassification Journal”.

      Lewis and Naveen,

Thank you for your answers. Just for clarification, I want to give some background information. I am looking to set something up that can move a specified quantity of a particular item from one bin location to another in the same warehouse. In real time, this corresponds to bring a material from “production” into the “R&D Lab”, where the product is immediately consumed or output, and no longer available for use, even though we may still have the physical product.Ā

What I am looking to do is submit some sort of form in NAV that tells the preweigh department to move 5 pounds of 123 item from Bin A to LAB, similar to the transfer order, where Location A, Bin 1 moves to Location B, Bin 5, for example. Will the options you presented still work for this application?
