There is a lot of freight information my shipping department needs to ship an LTL or FTL shipment, like if a lift gate is required, is it a business or residence or if there is limited access.Ā We’ve added fields to the sales order table for this information so the salesperson can communicate this info to the shipping department.
For those of you using add-ons like Lanham e-ship how is ancillary information like this entered/handled?

We don’t use any add-on, we just enter them in the customer comments, which then end up being Sales Order comments when an order is made for that customer. Then we have customized our pick-list with a section for these comments to print where checked.
I have blurred out some customer and contact details, but you get the idea.
Lanham’s e-ship add-on has many additional fields for some of this information.Ā
We also used recurring sales lines in BC or standard sales lines in older NAV to load some of this information and just pull into the sales lines on the order.
I like what Heather said, if we just had the ability to copy comments from customer or ship-to into the order.
