      Good afternoon,

We would like the unit cost value to be four decimal places for our resources.Ā  I tried changing the decimal places on the page, but that didn’t have any effect.Ā

      Thank you

Which NAV version are you using? Although this page shows you 2 decimal places by default but itĀ will let you enter more than 2 decimal places.

      Hi Jeane,

It’s very simple to do. There is a field in General Ledger Setup called Unit-Amount Decimal Places (in recent versions, the field isn’t available on the page by default, even though it exists on the General Ledger Setup table; a developer can add it back on the page in less than a minute).

If you always want 4 decimal places to appear, change the value for this field from the default (likely 2:2 or 2:5) to 4:4 and click OK to close the General Ledger Setup page. Shut down and restart the NAV client, and go back to the Item card. You will now see 4 decimal places at all times in the Unit Cost and similar fields.

In the 4:4 expression above, the value on the left side of the colon is the minimum number of decimal places to display, and the value on the right side is the maximum number of decimal places to display.

      I hope this helps!

      Jeane,

I just want to let you know that when you make a change to the Unit Amount Decimal PlacesĀ the change will alsoĀ
cause other reports and pages to formatted not just Resource Card.

Because changing the Unit Amount Decimal Places changed all fields, that didn’t work for us.Ā  We want Unit Price to remain two decimal places.Ā  We need Unit Cost to be five decimal places.Ā  Example:

Direct Unit Cost .033, Indirect Cost %125.00 = Unit Cost should be .033+(.033*125%) or .07425.Ā
What shows in the Unit Cost field and what calculates is .07 which is not accurate.

So how do we get Unit Cost to be 5 decimal places and leave Unit Price at two decimal places?
