Report Layout & Email Body Template

    Hi everyone,

I’m trying to configure the sales invoice report and the text that should appear as the message body when I select the option to send an email. The way I’m doing it, I’m getting an “HTML output format” error.

Here’s how I have it set up, so you can see what I’m doing wrong.

    1 – Report Layouts (screenshot)

    I have created two layouts:

    • IT-FACVEN for the invoice report. An RDL file.
    • IT-FACVEN-MAIL for the message body when sending the invoice. A Word document.

2 – Report Selection Sales (screenshot)

In this option, I have specified that I want IT-FACVEN-MAIL as the message body and IT-FACVEN as the report layout.

    3 – Report Layout Selection <b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;”>(screenshot)

Here, I reiterate that the invoice layout is IT-FACVEN.

I don’t understand if I need to specify it again here, since I already did in the previous point. Is it correct to specify it in both places?

    4 – HTML Error <b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;”>(screenshot)

When requesting to send email, the error “The Html output format is not supported by the current report layout format” appears.<b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;”>

5 – Changing Report Layout Selection (screenshot)

While trying different options, I noticed that if I select the standard Word template in “Report Layout Selection,” the error disappears.

The standard invoice report template appears as the email body (why?), and of course, the standard report is attached, not my own.<b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;”>

    What am I doing wrong?

I need a Word template for the message body and the RDL report for the invoice. I don’t want the invoice to appear in the message body, just text indicating that the invoice is attached.

I’ve also read, after asking an AI, that there should be an option to set the Subject and Body of the message by default if templates aren’t used. Where is this option?

I hope you can help me. Thanks!
