      Hi,

We willĀ be relieving inventory through backward flushing when we Finish our Production Order.Ā We may have 40 units being built on our line at any given timeĀ for approximately 30 days, how do I capture the inventory WIP if we are not flushing till the end of the process.Ā  Should we set up a “LocationĀ = Production”Ā to give usĀ a visual that these items are reserved for these units in this timeframe?

Also I have read a lot about the Reserve on the item card and that this can becomeĀ a lot to manage, would this be an option? Can you please share best practices on how to handle either of these options if both are an option.

      Thanks,

      LornaĀ Ā ?

      Lorna,

Either strategy can work as long as people are aware of it.

If possible, I would recommend breaking the production orders into routing steps and using routing link codes. This way, inventory will be relieved when a step is complete rather than the entire order.
