Printing checks with MICR Font in BC 365

The business is running Business Central 365 that is cloud hosted.Ā They have ordered blank check stock, installed the MICR font and set the check to print on a specific printer.Ā The problem is that when the checks print out, everything is too high up on the check, so, when they tear off the check (stub – stub – check) part of the check information is torn off.Ā Ā
The report selection is 60003.Ā If I change the report selection to 10401, it lines up but with no MICR font.
Any suggestions???——————————

Report 60003 means it is a custom report just for your company. You’ll need to get your NAV partner to make adjustments to the layout of the check.

Matt, thanks for the reply.Ā I’ve been told that MS, because BC is being hosted in the cloud, has to do this.Ā Have you ever heard of that???——————————

Microsoft will most definitely NOT be doing custom development for you.
Also, to be clear, MICR was not previously supported in Business Central cloud. I haven’t seen a note on a fix yet, but I am assuming based on your original question that this has been fixed and that you can see the MICR characters on the check. It’s just that everything is not lined up properly. If that is the wrong assumption, then yes, Microsoft needs to fix this first.

?Xan,To Matt’s point there is a very important distinction when discussing BC as there is an on premise and cloud option. Based on your statement that the MICR font was loaded to the server I’m guessing you are running the On-Prem version hosted on cloud servers. This means you have the full codebase available.
If this is just an alignment issue report designs are relatively easy to adjust, you simply need to go to the Report Layout Selection screen in the systemĀ and find your check report. You will see options for creating new custom layouts which will let you export and import layouts for testing. Obviously there is more to it than that but should get you to the right place to adjust.

You can open this report in the custom report selection and edit it in Word or SQL Reports.
No, Microsoft doesn’t do this.
The partner has a private store for this customer and the report can be uploaded from there.

Thanks for all the replies everyone.Ā Unfortunately they are hosted in the cloud.Ā The MICR font is installed onto the AP person’s station.Ā They can change the font when printing a word document.Ā ĀI was afraid that this is not supported by MS.
Thanks.
