      Hi All

We are just starting our journey on Dynamics 365 BC

Our average sales order is about 20 lines (some can be 50-60)

We have seasonal pricing, so orders placed x-weeks before a season starts attract a 20% discount, y weeks before, a 10% discount and during the season no discount

We figured the best way to implement this is price lists.

      Lets’s assume that item A costs $10

      • mar-may = 20% discount
      • jun-aug = 10% discount
      • sept-dec = No discount

If I enter a sales order on jun 5th it will get a 10% discount. Now if I change the order date to April 5th, i should get a discount of 20%, but the line item prices don’t change. The only way I could make then change was to over type the qty on every single line item. Is there a way to refresh all the lines and/or warn the user that difference prices should be applied?

      A few other questions

      1. Can I specify discounts on all items (or item categories) without list every item individually?
      2. When we were testing, we made a mistake on the price list. Once we apply the prices, there doesn’t seem to be a way to edit again in the price list worksheet. Only way we could fix was to go through every item and remove the line. Is there a way to fix the error globally?

      Thanks

      Mark

      Mark

Can I specify discounts on all items (or item categories) without list every item individually?Ā
Look at the the “Line Discounts” on the Item card or Customer Card. You will notice that you have several options for discounting:

You can use the “Customer Disc. Group” or “Campaign (if your are familiar with the Marketing Module)” As far a loading values to the Master data, I would use RapidStart/Configuration Packages to populate the requisite tables.

Unfortunately, the only way I know is to load a new worksheet from scratch.

      Good Luck!

Yes,Ā  the only way I’ve ever been able to update pricing on an order is to manually change or refresh the line by re-entering the item number or qty.Ā  (I think F2 in one of those field may do the refresh).

Are you referring to the Sales Price Worksheet?Ā  You should be able to change a line on it.

      Thanks for reply Lewis
Ā yes I was referring to the “Sales Price Worksheet? “

Once you apply the prices, the worksheet is empty

We looked at cust disc groups and campaign but rejected them. Cust disc groups would require change in the group or members several times a year (and we have different seasons for different things) and AFAIK, campaigns require the campaign code to be entered when entering the order.
