We are on NAV2016 and have lot tracking turned on. When printing the physical Inventory list and selecting show serial/lot number, we have pages of lots printing that have zero qty.
Do all of the lots always print? We have only been using lots for 3 months and I can’t imagine how long that list will be at the end of 2017.

Hi Debra,
Unfortunately yes, all lot would print, why you ask? because during a physical inventory, you don’t know what you might find for the actual lot number found in inventory. I know you think the lot you have should be the log NAV shows in inventory, but that is only true if people picked and recorded the correct lot when processing transactions.
So what is the fix? This is relatively simple to fix because it is a printing issue. You can ask your VAR to make a change to print only certain lots. What should print would vary for each company, depending on inventory turns, lot segregation practices, etc.
If you can define for your VAR what lots you would to see (such as only lots with remaining inventory, or created in the last 6 months, etc.), then they could print only the lot number that comply with your requirements. remember you will need a procedure on how to handle a lot that was “Counted” but not on the list

We are on Nav 2009 and do not use lots we use the physical inventory journals for our process. We are able to filter out zero items from printing. As well as many other filters, shelf locations, divisions etc. We have thousand of zero qty items and it works.
