Hi,Currently our Accounting Dept wants to send Customer Statement in a Batch and send the statements through Email within NAV.
We have setup to send posted sales invoices from NAV through Emails but not sure of how to setup and send statements in a batch through emails in NAV 2017.When I google, I didnt come across any good suggestion but one suggested may be go for an add on or have it customized in NAV.
So the question is: Is sending customer statements through emails from NAV is a standard function or it needs to be customized.Tip:
When I visited customer card and picked up one customer, under Document Layout Page, I did assigned to an customized customer statement report id, also mentioned the customers email address over there. Later went back to customer statement to run, selected an option where it shows if the output is to print or preview. Here I selected as Email and click ok button. Then nothing happens!
Do I need to setup any document sending profiles or do I need to play around with Document Layout under customer card for each customer or do I need to have an add on to make use of sending customer statements through emails or do we go for customization.
Please do share your views/suggestions and if any advice as well, that will be appreciated as well.
Thank You.
Rdgs

We use an add-on called EasyPDF (https://dynamicsnavaddons.com/easy-pdf-email-fax/)Ā to send customer statements in batch.

Hi Lewis,Thank you for your reply.
Add-on, but I thought that sending statements via emails from NAV is a standard function.
I dont think my CFO will agree for additional payment for this add-on, but one of posts I saw while googling that sending statements via emails from NAV is possible with document layout settings under customer card, though I didnt had time to test it.Any other suggestions or advise from anyone whoever reads this discussion.
Thank you all.

Hi Khan,You are in the right path where you can utilize the out of the box functionality email. Utilizing report selection, custom layout for body of email, etc. You’ll also need to configure and set up the SMTP settings. You may need to work with your IT on what to populate.

Hi Kristoffer,Thank you for your reply.
Yes I will play around with Custom Reports/Report Selections/Document Sending Profile or under customer card, I will play around with Document Layouts and will make use of our customer statement report id along with email address of the customer as well. Our SMTP is setup and works without any issues.Ā
Thank You.
