Can someone tell me what the “Map-to Dimension Value Code” field is for on the Dimension Values screen?
We are looking for a place to add our payroll codes on the Salesperson dimension value.
Is this something we can use that will not affect anything else?
It sounds like it is for mapping, which makes me worry it is going to affect other parts of NAV.
We are in NAV 2017.

Used for intercompany transactions to tie the dimension value used on one side to the intercompany dimension used on the other side of the transaction.  So, this is probably not the best place to use for what you need.

You may need to use the User or Salespeople/Purchaser table to capture the data you need.  i wouldn’t add fields to the dimension tables.
