We’re on NAV 2018. Does anyone have a tutorial that shows when and how these fields are used on the Item Card?

      Hello Noreen!
I can help you with your Lanham inquiry!  Here is a description of the field values:
Gross Weight >> Specify the weight of the item with its container and/or packaging. It may be used on customs documents, etc.
Net Weight >> Specify the raw weight of the item without its container and/or packaging. It may be used on customs documents, etc.
Dimmed Weight >> Specify the amount of space a package occupies in relation to its actual weight
Unit Volume  >> Specify the volume of one unit of the item. It may be used on customs documents, etc.
**If you go to Packing Stations there is a field  on the General fast tab called “Show What During Packing” it can be any of the above or Scale Weight (if scales are in use).  So as you put items in the box, the weight will increase based on the value from the item and what option was selected in the Packing Station**

Use Unit of Measure Dimensions >> This is typically used in conjunction with “Std. Pack Unit of Measure” that is also located on the Item’s E-Ship fast tab.  It is for items that may be shelved in their boxes.  As an example, my “Base UOM” and “Selling UOM” are EACH but when I buy from my vendor it may come in a BOX and I can ship out the BOX so my WIDGET item may have a “Std Pack UOM” = BOX.  If you do a lookup in that field you will see that you can specify the “Qty per UOM” = 5.  ALSO in this table, you can set the package dimensions Length, Width, Height, Cubage and Weight….all things necessary to ship this BOX!  So I’d want to set the “Use Unit of Measure Dimensions” = TRUE to use these values.  When my customer orders 10 WIDGETS, I can pull two BOXes off the shelf and in Pack Line Scanning run the //CSPP (Create Standard Pack Print) which will create 2 E-Ship package that both containing WIDGET where UOM = BOX and Qty = 1 (5 x 2 = 10).  It will also set the package dimensions and weight that were specified for the BOX Unit of Measure.

I hope this helps you out!  Let us know if you have any other questions.
      Have a great day!
