Does anyone know how the lot number and expiration date get populated in the (Posted) Package Records?

      Good Morning Lewis,

You need to setup an E-Ship Tracking Code and assign those to the respective items. That will allow you to assign Lot / Exp to Packages automatically.

I agree with Dale, You need to setup the E-Ship Tracking Code on all Items that require this info.
It is not automatic, The shippers need to input the LOT and/or EXP Date before closing the package, the E-Ship Tracking Code makes it required so they cannot close the order without this info.

We automate it by creating a Bar Code on our packages in the format of ITEMNumber;LOTNumber
When they scan this bar code it automatically inputs the Lot Number on the package.
We do not have them enter the EXP Date.

For Customers that require EXP Dates on the EDI Documents we had a Custom EDI Out created that pulls the EXP Date from the Lot Information Card based on the Lot Number that was packed in the box.

I see that it is not automatically updated.Ā  That is too bad since the information is on the registered pick.
So where do you go to update the packages?

What happens if they pick multiple Lots for one shipment, Eship has no way to know what LOT is in What Package and is the reason it does not auto populate.
You add the Lots by using the commandĀ  //SASL (Scan All Serial and Lot) or //SMSL (Scan Missing Serial and Lot)

Justin, thanks for the reply.Ā  I understand what you are saying…we tend not to think that way because we have one item to a package.Ā  The //SMSL command worked, but this is not really a very good solution.Ā  We can have hundreds of packages on an order and we create our packages and labels before we go out an pick an order.Ā  We build the pallet as we pick, so it is too late to create and apply labels after picking.Ā  So, I guess we’re going in the right direction with a modification we have planned where we will scan the bin, scan the item/lot bar code, and scan the UCC label to populate the package records as we pick.
