      Folks,

Thanks as always for reading this post and attempting to help, it is greatly appreciated.

Our company is currently tasked with choosing a forecasting / demand planning software and we have somewhat narrowed it down to the Lanham AFP and DemandCaster. Completely different in both integration and GUI, our team sees benefits of both. With Lanham, your integration is within NAV which can be seen as a plus for some, a negative for others. DemandCaster is a SaaS model and as such, requires a monthly fee as opposed to licensing + enhancement with Lanham.

Economically, the Lanham seems the better bet but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the better choice for the company. We forecast 2-3k SKUS in 2 locations and currently do it manually through Excel and formulas.

I’d like to hear feedback on both software platforms if anyone here has used them. I tend to see quite a bit of Lanham users and if you have feedback on the AFP module, I’d love to hear it.

      Thank you again!

      Ravi,

I would go with Lanham AFP. It has the most advanced forecasting formulas I’ve seen. It has dozens of formulas and even has formulas to analyze the past performance of formulas… in order to see which are working best in your environment. I’m not a fan of subscription based software so… but I know this is the trend. I’m not familiar with DemandCaster so I can’t be objective, but I figured I’d throw you a bone since no one had answered.

      Take care,

We have implemented Lanham AFP to multiple clients and have had good success, We utilized their team of professionals for the help which supplemented our project. AFP needs bottom-up forecasting (predict / forecast amount of inventory needed and create supply orders for the forecast).
I would recommend it for demand planning and Forecasting.
