?We are using NAV Tariff No.Ā field for HTS codes (this is really just our internal code).Ā We have implemented Easyship/Pacejet as our shipping solution.Ā Ā Pacejet uses our HTS code to reference their Commodity table to pull the ‘real’ HTS and country of origin which then gets placed on the Commercial Invoice.Ā Ā Our problem is that we use the same HTS for multiple items but these items have different COO.Ā Ā For example item ABC has a code of 8536.00.9325 with a COO of US and item DEF uses the same code (8536.00.9325) but it’s COO is China.Ā
What we plan to do on the item card is give item ABC a code of 8536.00.93251 (where the last digit (1) indicates US) and item DEF a code of 8536.00.93252 (where last digit (2) indicates China).Ā Then in the Commodity table we will add both of these codes and then for each will give them the same HTS code but different COO.
So with the above said we think we have a workable solution, albeit it will mean we need to update quite a few item cards, I’m curious if others have did something different.
Love to here your thoughts…
Thanks

We use the Country/Region of Origin Code field on the item table.Ā Not sure if you can modify whatever function is looking up the HTS and COO to look at both the Tariff and the COO fields on the item table.Ā If you can, I would do that instead of adding an extra identifier number to your Tariff Code.Ā Some day in the future it may become hard to remember why you added that extra number.
