I have a department that wants all the emails from that department to be issued from a single email…not the individual users email.

Out of the box, the email comes from the email of the logged in user account.

Now I don’t want all emails from everyone to come from that single email, just 1 department.

In 2009, pre the ability to email directly from NAV, this was done with an add-on.

Essentially, what we ideally want is our:
      Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  AR group to all have the NAV emails sent from credit@company.com
      Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  AP group to all have the NAV emails sent from AP@company.com
      Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  PURCHASING to all have the NAV emails sent from PURCHASING@company.com
      Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Ā  Everyone else to come from the specific USER email.
      The email accounts all exist.

We are on 2016. Ā  Ā Is there anyone else who has a solution to this issue?

I don’t this can be done with standard NAV without customization.Ā  We use EasyPDF which includes this functionality.Ā  Very versatile product.

Thanks Dave…you did not mention what version of NAV you are running. Ā  Ā 2016? Ā  Higher?

I know there is no way in 2009, but you would think that when they added direct emailing, they might have addressed. Ā  [I know, too much to hope for]

We are running 2016 now, but started using the product when we were on 2015.

this can be done by a small customization of cu 400 smtp or cu 397 mail, depending if you use outlook for mail or not.Ā
there it’s needed, when setting the sender mail to replace the entry by the user’s department mail address. you could set the department mail address per user e.g. in the user setup … or what ever logic you need here to get the right mail address when sending.

In 2013 it used to grab the e-mail field from the User Setup table.

If you put the same e-mail to those users (e.g. A/P) does it work as you intend?

In other words, in the e-mail field for all A/P users, put ap@domain.com. And the same for other groups.
